Nvidia taps six Wall Street giants in bid to unlock $500 billion for AI infrastructure

Nvidia announced on August 10, 2026 memorandums of understanding with six major financial firms (Apollo Global Management, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield Asset Management, Goldman Sachs, and KKR) to create independent financing platforms aiming to raise over $500 billion in third-party capital for AI infrastructure. The company may provide residual-value guarantees of up to $125 billion, without putting up cash or taking on new debt. This model frames AI hardware as a revenue-generating asset class, allowing AI labs, cloud providers, and capital-constrained enterprises to access GPUs without major upfront payments. The CoreWeave structure, which raised $8.5 billion through GPU-backed financing, demonstrates that such large-scale operations are feasible, though investors are questioning whether chips can serve as reliable long-term collateral.
