Apple briefly recovered the top spot on July 17 with a market cap of approximately $4.88 trillion, before widening its lead on July 27 following a 5% drop in Nvidia shares. Nvidia’s market cap now sits around $4.72 trillion, while Apple hovers between $4.9 and $4.95 trillion. Nvidia first became the world’s most valuable company by overtaking Microsoft in June 2025, before hitting a historic $5 trillion valuation in October 2025. The race for the top spot could continue in the coming weeks.
