Former FTX users are reporting receiving funds as part of a fifth distribution wave estimated at $900 million. Since the platform filed for bankruptcy in 2022, FTX’s trust has reportedly repaid approximately $11 billion to affected users. Former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried and the former co-CEO of the Bahamian subsidiary Ryan Salame remain incarcerated, while former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison was released in January. A judge has also barred the trust from pursuing Binance and its former CEO Changpeng Zhao for damages, while leaving open a claim to recover $1.76 billion.
