Midnight, a privacy-focused blockchain running as a sidechain to Cardano, has announced open smart contract deployment on its mainnet. CTO Sebastien Guillemo of Midnight Foundation said the upgrade will include private smart contracts using zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs. The native NIGHT token surged 30% this week but remains near the upper range of its ascending channel. The next version will add composability features enabling complex DeFi applications like the Aave lending protocol. Midnight targets institutional players seeking on-chain privacy.
