Microsoft unveiled on September 25 a major redesign of its Copilot AI assistant, reorganized around three tabs: Home, Code, and Autopilot. The Home tab merges Chat and Cowork features, allowing users to create and edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents without leaving the application. The Code tab, powered by GitHub Copilot technology, enables building applications and dashboards using plain language prompts. The Autopilot tab introduces autonomous agents, starting with Microsoft Scout, designed to handle background tasks without constant human oversight. Home and Code capabilities will roll out through the Frontier program, while Autopilot features enter private preview by the end of September.
