Microsoft shows off new Windows software, revamped for agentic AI

Microsoft unveiled Wednesday major updates to Windows integrating AI agents and AI tools directly into the operating system. CEO Satya Nadella said Windows is becoming a hybrid intelligence system, combining cloud AI with local AI like GitHub. The company invested $13 billion in OpenAI but is now seeking its place alongside Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic. Microsoft is also betting on its Surface Laptop Ultra, equipped with Nvidia’s RTX Spark chip, priced at $2,599 and available starting October 16. Microsoft 365 Copilot now has over 30 million paid seats, confirming massive adoption of its AI tools in the enterprise market.
