Anthropic launched Claude Haiku 5.5, a compact AI model designed for fast, high-volume workloads, with average running costs approximately 75% lower than version 4.5. For prompts up to 100,000 tokens, Haiku 5.5 costs $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens, compared to $1 and $5 respectively for the previous version. The model scored 72.4% on the offline subset of OSWorld 2.1, versus just 15.7% for Haiku 4.5, demonstrating substantial improvements in its capabilities. Alongside the launch, Anthropic halved Sonnet 5.5’s cache read price and announced monthly API credits for Max and Team subscribers. Haiku 5.5 is available through the Claude Platform, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
