MiCA: ‘Regulation is the entry ticket to a market’

Julie Bader, lawyer at De Gaulle Fleurance, explains that this concentration results from anticipated regulation, where early compliance investments give certain players a competitive edge. Some companies have chosen to reposition themselves by providing indices, data or technical infrastructure rather than obtaining a license. Banks and foreign investors are showing growing interest in crypto companies: banks seek expertise while foreign investors look for a gateway to the European market. Julie Bader anticipates continued transformation as DeFi services become increasingly integrated into institutional offerings.
