Mastercard and BVNK launched the Global Money Platform on October 15, 2026, providing banks, fintechs and enterprises with a single interface to manage both fiat currencies and stablecoins through one API. The platform supports USDC and OUSD stablecoins and enables card issuance in over 130 countries, connecting digital assets to traditional payment networks. It integrates with Mastercard Move, which reaches over 17 billion endpoints, with plans to expand to over 40 currencies and 200 countries by 2027. The launch follows Mastercard’s acquisition of BVNK, which closed on August 3, 2026, for up to 1.8 billion dollars, including 300 million dollars in contingent payments. BVNK brings its technology stack and regulatory licenses, including MiCA authorization to operate across the European Union.
