MANTRA halted its Layer 1 blockchain on Aug. 20 after an incident in the Cosmos EVM module, and said it found the root cause and contained the threat. The team said two wallet addresses were affected and that no user funds were exploited. The MANTRA token hit an all-time low of $0.0041 on Aug. 20 at 23:09 UTC before recovering to $0.0048 the next day, with a market cap of $26.9 million. This marks the second security incident involving the Cosmos EVM codebase in seven months, after an attack drained roughly $7 million from Saga’s EVM network in January. The team is currently validating a patched release on its DuKong testnet and coordinating a restart with validator partners.
