Manchester United has completed the signing of Cameroon midfielder Carlos Baleba from Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth up to £70 million, with a fixed fee of £65 million and £5 million in potential add-ons. The 22-year-old has signed a five-plus-one-year contract after passing his medical. Brighton had purchased Baleba from LOSC Lille in 2023 for approximately £27 million, generating more than double their investment in just three years. The player is currently recovering from an ankle ligament injury sustained during pre-season and is expected to miss another two to three weeks. Baleba becomes Manchester United’s third midfield signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.
