Grayscale filed Amendment No. 4 on August 18 to convert its Zcash Trust into a spot ETF, followed by a fifth amendment, with a target listing date on NYSE Arca around August 25 under the ticker ZCSH. Coinbase will handle custody and Jane Street Capital and Virtu Americas will serve as authorized participants. The trust, operational since October 2017, holds approximately 391,000 to 393,000 ZEC, representing a significant share of the circulating supply. If approved, it would be the first spot ETF for a privacy-focused digital asset, breaking new ground in an area where the SEC has never before granted approval.
