Manchester Cyberattack: 8.7 Million Travellers Caught in Airport Free Wi-Fi Trap

Manchester Airports Group has acknowledged a massive data breach exposing approximately 8.7 million customers through free Wi-Fi registration forms and parking reservations at its airports in Manchester, London Stansted, and East Midlands. The compromised data includes email addresses, phone numbers, vehicle registration plates, and postcodes, though no banking information was stolen. The ICO, the UK data protection authority, is now handling the case, and the group faces potentially significant financial penalties given the scale of the breach. Air operations were not affected and the Manage My Booking service was suspended pending investigation.
