One passenger told him that arriving even one minute late to work would cost him his job, illustrating the critical role these rides play in users’ lives. Risher took over Lyft in 2023 after founders Logan Green and John Zimmer departed, as the company was losing ground to Uber and struggling to turn a profit. Under his leadership, Lyft’s stock has risen approximately 50% over three years. This hands-on experience notably inspired the price lock feature on the app, after customers expressed strong opposition to surge pricing.
