Lido’s 1,500 ETH reserve target could slow stETH withdrawals in a crunch

Share

Lido’s Curated Module Committee gained authority on September 25 to change the 1,500 ETH validator deposit reserve. The committee proposes setting the target to zero until the new 0x02 CSM staking module launches, to free more buffered ETH for stETH withdrawals. According to the protocol’s stress model, this reduction could lower average finalization time from 7.9 to 6.3 days under high stress conditions. Restoring a 1,500 to 2,000 ETH reserve would depend on actual node operator demand after the 0x02 CSM launch, expected in October. As of September 27, the reserve remained unchanged at 1,500 ETH with no motion opened.
