LayerZero launched ATLAS, a headless exchange infrastructure that consolidates order matching, clearing, settlement, and risk management into a single platform. The ZRO token surged roughly 20%, pushing its market cap to $746 million. ATLAS processes up to 200,000 transactions per second with a median latency under 1 millisecond, exceeding Solana’s theoretical maximum throughput of 65,000 TPS. The protocol introduces tokenomics where venues can stake ZRO for tiered fee rebates, with 75% of collected fees after rebates routed to a buy-and-burn mechanism. The underlying Zero Layer-1 blockchain, developed in collaboration with Citadel Securities, DTCC, and ICE, has facilitated $280 billion to $290 billion in cross-chain volume across more than 165 chains.
