LayerZero Labs unveiled ATLAS, a decentralized exchange platform built on its Zero Layer-1 blockchain. The system targets 200,000 transactions per second, surpassing Visa’s peak capacity of roughly 65,000 TPS, with stated ambitions to exceed 2 million TPS. ATLAS operates as a headless exchange, providing backend trading infrastructure while allowing third parties to build their own front-end interfaces. It features self-custody and zero-knowledge proofs for on-chain verification. The testnet is expected to launch soon, with a full release planned for late 2026, backed by major traditional finance players including Citadel Securities, Intercontinental Exchange and DTCC.
