Jeff Bezos, whose net worth stands at $372 billion, told Fox News that society has been incorrectly taught to view success as a form of oppression rather than value creation. He defended wealth accumulation by stating that an entrepreneur could become a billionaire by starting a simple hamburger stand with just ten employees. According to a 2025 Pew Research poll, 18% of Americans believe being extremely rich is morally wrong, a figure that rises to 33% among Gen Z adults. Bezos proposed that the lowest-income households, approximately 76 million, should pay no federal income tax, citing the example of a health care worker in Queens earning $75,000 a year but paying over $1,000 per month in taxes. Howard Schultz and Jamie Dimon share his view that success should not be vilified.
