In September, a Delaware limited liability company paid $69.5 million for a 17,500-square-foot oceanfront property in Golden Beach, according to public records reviewed by Fortune. The buyer is listed as Meridian Coast LLC; local agents and other sources identified Jeff Bezos to The Real Deal, although he has not publicly confirmed the purchase. The house includes seven bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a guest house, a pool, a spa and 100 feet of waterfront, and the sale set a record for a single-family home in Golden Beach. It is about a 30-minute drive from Bezos’s $237 million Indian Creek compound, acquired after he moved to Miami in 2023; according to Fortune, Florida’s exemption from state income and capital gains taxes allowed him to save an estimated $1 billion in 2024. Scarcity and an influx of wealthy buyers have already broken the annual record for residential sales above $30 million in Miami-Dade County.
