Injective has submitted a governance proposal to fix gas fees for messages in its exchange module on the DeFi blockchain. This feature, already running on testnet, would replace the current system where gas varies with computational load with a fixed rate for specific actions such as limit orders, cancellations, and subaccount transfers. Creating a limit order on a derivatives market would be charged exactly 330,000 gas units, allowing traders to know the cost in advance. Typical fees amount to approximately $0.0003 per transaction, and approval from staked INJ token holders is required before deployment on mainnet. High-frequency traders and market makers are the primary beneficiaries, as this measure simplifies their operational cost modeling.
