Illuvium says six months of cuts bought it another year as MMO becomes its main remaining bet

Web3 gaming studio Illuvium announced on August 21 that six months of cost reductions and a further wage cut restored more than 12 months of operating runway. The remaining team is now almost entirely focused on an MMO scheduled for December 2026, with reduced scope and reused existing assets. In December 2024, monthly burn was approximately $900,000, and the studio had indicated plans to seek additional capital around March 2025, without confirming whether new funding contributed to the latest runway calculation. Social media rumors of a $132 million raise do not match known figures, which show approximately $60 million in cumulative funding. The ILV token lost 67.55% over the year as of August 21.
