IBM released on August 25 its Granite 4.2 model family, three open-weight variants of 3B, 8B, and 30B parameters. All three offer a native 128,000-token context window and are released under the Apache 2.0 license, enabling local deployment without royalties. The 30B model can extend its context to 512,000 tokens and scored 89.17 on AIME25 and 57.00 on SWE-Bench Verified. IBM also launched Granite Speech 5.0 Turbo CTC models for audio and speech processing.
