IBM announced on September 24 a beta connection between its Digital Asset Haven platform and SWIFT’s shared ledger for tokenized deposits, using an ISO 20022 messaging adapter. Seventeen banks are already participating in SWIFT’s controlled pilot program, which the network said in July was ready for initial use. Participating institutions can move tokenized deposits around the clock through the ledger, ahead of final settlement through existing mechanisms including real-time gross settlement systems. IBM also launched an on-premises beta allowing regulated clients to run Haven entirely inside their own IBM Z and LinuxONE data centers, removing public-cloud dependency.
