Harmony has proposed shutting down its network and migrating the ONE token to Ethereum, citing insurmountable threats from state actors and AI agents. Validators can stop running nodes starting September 10 and will receive approximately $1.4 million in compensation for lost emission rewards. ONE token holders will be snapshotted and airdropped with equivalent tokens on Ethereum, while total supply and emission rate will remain unchanged. Validators may continue as governors or participate in Harmony’s planned AI video economy, according to the September 6 statement.
