Seoul’s Yoido Full Gospel Church disclosed that a data breach may have compromised personal information of 850,000 members, including names, dates of birth and logs of changes to registration numbers, phone numbers and addresses. Cybersecurity firm Oasis Security found the data on a foreign server alongside attack logs referencing AI sub-agents. A second Seoul megachurch, Sarang Church, also suffered a data theft affecting approximately 89,000 members and 286 employees. South Korean President Lee Jae Myung confirmed that AI is believed to have been used in recent hacks on commercial banks including Shinhan, which exposed data on about 25,000 customers.
