Software developer Brandon Thomas has released seven free, open source alternatives to Adobe Creative Cloud applications, built using Anthropic’s Claude Opus 5.5. Released under the Artcraft brand, these apps recreate the interfaces of Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, After Effects, InDesign and Acrobat Pro. Written in Rust with WebAssembly versions for browser use, they are offered under MIT and Apache licenses. The software remains in a very early alpha stage with missing features and bugs reported by users. Thomas funds development through paid access to Artcraft’s visual AI tools, with the platform having launched last year for editing AI-generated images and videos.
