The funds came primarily from providing liquidity for the Solana-based CYBERLEEK token and collecting trading fees. The mechanism operated as an incentive loop: the leaks generated attention, attention created trading volume, and trading volume produced fees. Once the fee withdrawal became public, the CYBERLEEK token’s price dropped sharply. Rockstar acknowledged the leaks on August 26 and filed DMCA subpoenas against Microsoft and Discord to identify the responsible party.
