Grayscale launched its Zcash exchange-traded fund on NYSE Arca on Tuesday under the ticker ZCSH. The product originally began as a private placement in October 2017. Its listing comes months after developers disclosed and patched a critical vulnerability in Zcash’s shielded transaction system that could have allowed attackers to create counterfeit ZEC. In July, the network activated the Ironwood upgrade, replacing the Orchard pool with a new shielded pool featuring accounting rules that prevent any counterfeit coins from existing. Grayscale filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission in November to convert the trust into an exchange-traded fund.
