Google officially launched Googlebooks, its new line of Android-based laptops replacing Chromebooks with an operating system called Aluminium OS. Five hardware partners – Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo – are producing these devices targeting the premium segment against Apple’s MacBook lineup. Pre-orders opened on September 21 and the first models will be available on October 4. These computers integrate Gemini AI with features like Magic Pointer and generative widgets, as well as a light indicator called Glowbar. Google plans to release lower-cost models in the future to cover the entire market spectrum.
