Google has been testing ads inside AI Mode since mid-October 2026 for signed-in users who use Personal Intelligence, a feature that connects apps such as Gmail and Google Calendar to search. Advertisers have little control over placement: eligible campaigns are included automatically, without dedicated placement controls, separate reporting or an opt-out option. Context drawn from connected apps may shape personalized advertising preferences, but Google says advertisers will not gain access to users’ personal content.
