Gnosis Pay Breach Exposes User Data, Triggering Immediate Phishing Alerts

Gnosis Pay, a British fintech, confirmed that an intrusion on November 3 compromised data belonging to holders of its retail Visa debit cards. The company says users’ cryptocurrencies and funds were not affected, while its B2B and white-label platforms continue to operate normally. The unauthorized access involved a legacy B2C card-processing system that was already scheduled for full shutdown on December 20. The security team cut off access through the compromised keys within two hours, increased transaction monitoring and made 3D Secure verification mandatory for all online payments. Gnosis Pay warned users that scammers are using the stolen information to impersonate customer support and will never request seed phrases, private keys, PINs or full card numbers to verify or cancel transactions.
