Ethereum’s Glamsterdam upgrade raised Sepolia’s block-gas limit from about 60 million to nearly 200 million. During early testing, more than 25 consecutive blocks used between 26% and 46% of available capacity, with none approaching the new ceiling. In a separate six-minute window, all 32 scheduled blocks were produced while 99.97% of eligible testnet stake voted toward finality. The next public testnet, Hoodi, is tentatively planned for October 27, but no mainnet activation date or final production gas limit has been set. This upgrade serves as a capacity rehearsal, not a confirmed threefold throughput increase for mainnet.
