Fetch.AI, NuNet and SingularityNET targeted in $17M token attack

Share

A coordinated attack struck three AI projects on September 19, draining approximately 8.72 million FET tokens and minting roughly 2.3 billion tokens (AGIX, NTX, CGV, WMTx) for total damages estimated at $17 million. The attacker exploited compromised privileged signing keys to access contracts of these projects that are members of the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance. Realized profits from token sales reached between $2 million and $2.25 million. The NTX token suffered a brutal drop of 65% to over 90%, while all three projects suspended operations and deactivated compromised keys. The investigation is ongoing and some attacker wallets remain unprotected, which could result in additional losses.
