Patrick Steven Yaroch, 37, admitted to stealing $2,474,380.66 in cryptocurrency by making about 100 fraudulent transfers related to 35 FBI investigations. His position gave him access to FBI systems, and he targeted digital assets held in wallets that were under investigation. He then exchanged and laundered the funds to conceal their source and ownership. Yaroch used some of the proceeds to pay off his debts and planned to start a new life in Portugal by buying a vineyard. He faces up to 20 years in prison, with sentencing scheduled for March 4, 2027.
