Glamsterdam is Ethereum’s next major upgrade after Fusaka, designed to improve scalability and harden the layer-1. It introduces ePBS (EIP-7732), separating block proposers and builders on the consensus protocol, as well as block-level access lists (EIP-7928, BALs) enabling parallel transaction processing. The Ethereum Foundation established a 200 million gas limit floor for Glamsterdam, a significant increase from the current limit of around 60 million. Hegotá will be the next major upgrade, with 66 proposals currently under review.
