Ethereum will activate the Glamsterdam upgrade on the Sepolia testnet on October 6, combining the Gloas consensus-layer upgrade with the Amsterdam execution-layer upgrade. This upgrade, described as the most significant since The Merge by developers, will introduce enshrined proposer-builder separation and block-level access lists to improve validation processing. It will also modify gas accounting and pricing to better reflect execution and state-growth costs. ETH has surged 14% over the past two weeks, though rising Treasury yields may create a more challenging environment for the rally. Activation dates for the validator-focused Hoodi public testnet and mainnet have yet to be determined.
