StarkWare CEO Eli Ben-Sasson said the transition would give Starknet control over its own security upgrades, rather than waiting for Ethereum to modernize its post-quantum infrastructure around 2029. The quantum threat and the advancement of artificial intelligence are the two risk factors cited by Ben-Sasson to justify this transformation.
