JPMorgan CEO warns America is leaning too hard on AI

Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan, said in an interview on October 6, 2026 that cyber risks have increased tenfold since Anthropic launched its Mythos AI model, calling them the bank’s “biggest risk.” A study published by JPMorgan in June 2026 identified four major risks in the AI market, including a significant gap between semiconductor stock prices and their historical averages, as well as a sharp rise in margin loans in Korea. The ten largest US companies now account for approximately 40% of the S&P 500’s total market value, up from 17% in 2015, and around 42 AI-focused companies have generated 65-80% of the index’s profits and expenditures since ChatGPT launched in 2022. Despite these warnings, JPMorgan plans to maintain its annual technology and AI spending at around $20 billion.
