This decision is part of a major strategic shift: Core Scientific signed 15-year leases covering 529 megawatts, primarily with AMD, projected to generate over $14 billion in contracted revenue. Block wound down its TBD mining unit in November 2024, just months after unveiling its Proto Rig miner at Core Scientific’s facility.
