Kalshi has launched perpetual DOGE futures in the United States, giving retail investors access to CFTC-regulated products. Each contract covers 10 DOGE with maximum leverage of 3.8x for longs and 2.8x for shorts. The first trading hours recorded daily volume of approximately $952,100 and open interest of $553,300, with a slight predominance of short positions at 54% versus 46% for longs. The major tax advantage lies in the application of the 60/40 rule under the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, where 60% of profits are taxed at the long-term capital gains rate. The platform has achieved over $5.5 billion in cumulative volume since launching its perpetual futures this summer.
