Jeff Yan, co-founder of Hyperliquid, stated at Korea Blockchain Week that continuous market operation no longer constitutes a distinctive advantage for crypto, as traditional exchanges rapidly close the gap with extended sessions. He identified the two true differentiators of onchain finance: user custody of funds through private keys, and full system transparency. Hyperliquid is now focusing on private, unlisted asset markets enabled by the HIP-3 standard, which requires staking 500,000 HYPE, worth over 40 million dollars at current prices. This direction addresses the opportunity presented by assets like SpaceX or OpenAI, each valued at hundreds of billions without a public price, whose price discovery could occur on a global scale.
