Crypto hacks reached $766.49 million in September, representing an increase of approximately 462% compared to August’s $136.3 million. The Bitget breach at around $387 million and the Liquid Network theft of roughly $320 million, with $285 million returned, are the largest and second-largest crypto thefts of the year. Excluding these two incidents, the other 53 hacks totaled approximately $59 million, less than half of August’s total. Bitget stated that its security systems flagged unauthorized transfers on September 24 and plans to cover losses from its User Protection Fund holding over $464 million.
