BlackRock reported 79.6 billion dollars in digital assets by end of September 2025, up from 48.8 billion at end of June, a 63% increase in three months. The third quarter saw 7.9 billion dollars in net inflows, erasing the 2.2 billion withdrawn in the first half of the year. Of the 30.8 billion gained during the quarter, 22.9 billion came from rising bitcoin prices, which climbed back above 80,000 dollars. Despite this rebound, assets under management remain 23% below the 104 billion dollars from October 2024, with price declines erasing 30.6 billion over twelve months. This performance highlights the sector’s reliance on cryptocurrency prices, as client flows only partially offset valuation losses.
