Crosby, a New York-based artificial intelligence law firm, plans to insure its AI agents directly under professional liability policies. The company currently employs between 45 and 60 licensed attorneys, who review every contract produced by its agents, including non-disclosure and master services agreements. Its structure relies on two entities, a technology company and a licensed professional limited liability company that already holds malpractice coverage. Crosby handled contracts valued from $30 million to $1 billion in under a year and raised $60 million in a Series B funding round in spring 2026 at a valuation of roughly $400 million. Insuring AI agents will nevertheless require new evaluation standards, insurer and regulator involvement, and clear rules on liability when errors occur.
