Core Lightning nodes can keep crashing after an upgrade until a stored trigger is removed

Share

A disclosed flaw in Core Lightning affects versions v25.02 through v26.04 and can cause repeated crashes when the node restarts. The v26.04.1 fix, released on April 25, blocks new malformed announcements but does not remove records already stored in gossip_store, requiring manual deletion. The project recommends installing v26.06.9, released on October 7, while versions before v25.02 could accept and relay such announcements without crashing. An offline node may miss a time-limited channel claim, putting funds at risk.
