Circle’s Arc lets AI agents pay humans in USDC for 3D world scans

Share

Circle, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, launched Arc, its Layer-1 blockchain, on September 16, 2026. This infrastructure enables AI agents to hire humans to capture 3D models of real-world locations, with payment in USDC through an escrow system. The VANGRID platform uses this setup: an agent posts a scan request, a human contractor captures the location, and the GLB file is delivered with cryptographic provenance and a timestamp. USDC serves a dual purpose: it functions as both the gas token and the settlement currency, eliminating fee volatility for automated micropayments. Other marketplaces like RentAHuman are emerging around these same features, but questions remain about quality control, labor dynamics, and network concentration.
