China has imposed provisional anti-dumping duties reaching up to 99.2% on imports of dichlorosilane from Japan. The Ministry of Commerce issued its preliminary ruling on September 7, targeting primarily Shin-Etsu Chemical with the highest rate. The investigation, launched January 7, 2026 at the request of Tangshan Sanfu Electronic Materials Co., found a cumulative 31% price decline between 2022 and 2024, causing material injury to Chinese domestic producers. This measure follows Japan’s alignment with the United States and the Netherlands in restricting semiconductor equipment exports to China. The final determination is expected by January 7, 2027.
