Chainalysis Government Solutions filed a complaint on July 27, 2026 with the Court of Federal Claims against the United States to challenge the sole-source award of a $94.6 million contract by Immigration and Customs Enforcement to its direct competitor TRM Labs. This contract covers forensic software and support services for investigations by the Homeland Security Task Force, running from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027. Claiming it had submitted a valid response to the agency’s notice of intent, Chainalysis deems the decision « arbitrary, capricious and unreasonable. » Oral arguments are scheduled for September 2, 2026 before Judge Stephen S. Schwartz, while TRM Labs has been granted permission to intervene in the proceedings to defend the contract.
