Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson announced that Midnight.city, the AI-driven interactive simulation platform built on the Midnight network, has officially entered beta testing. Midnight’s mainnet launched on March 30, 2026, with approximately $200 million invested in the project. The platform simulates realistic transaction loads at scale through AI agents that test privacy features and prepare the network for the arrival of real users. The technology relies on programmable privacy based on zero-knowledge proofs, allowing developers to choose exactly what information is revealed or hidden in each transaction. Midnight is an independent Proof-of-Stake blockchain and not a Cardano sidechain, with interoperability ambitions targeting Bitcoin and XRP Ledger.
