Cardano has reached a major milestone with the completion of the van Rossem intra-era hard fork (Protocol Version 11) on July 18, improving Plutus performance, ledger consistency, and node security. The Dijkstra era, which will introduce Ouroboros Leios, is being prepared with a phased rollout: Nested Transactions, Linear Leios, and Peras. The Haskell team aims to deploy the first two phases to mainnet by the end of 2026. On the governance front, the Constitutional Committee election is now on-chain and the Constitutional Amendment Portal has opened for community alpha testing. The next hard fork could be named after Alexander Esgen or Fabian von Bergen, pending community decision.
